Capital Region Welcome Center

The Capital Region Welcome Center represents the gateway for many travelers into the Capital Region of New York State. As a nod to the region’s many theatres and performing arts centers, Parkitects contributed to the creation of a custom music themed playground for all to enjoy.

Travelers of all ages can create melodies on a large set of musical chimes, or explore rhythm with a set of outdoor drums. An expansive grand piano-inspired netted climbing structure, complete with surfacing colored to look like piano keys, provides an imaginative canvas for play, along with a tall winding slide. The playground’s vibrant colors and numerous custom components make it an exciting and welcoming way to introduce travelers to the unique area and its many charms.
