Landscape Architect & President, CPSI
A graduate of Michigan State University with dual degrees in park planning & design and landscape horticulture, Steve began his career as a park & playground designer with the City of Orlando. In 1998, he relocated to upstate New York to work for Bob Leathers Architect. As their technical director, Steve was part of the committee that wrote the first ASTM standard for public playgrounds. In 1995, Steve left Leathers & Associates to consult with the product development team at Landscape Structures.
In 1996, Steve formed Parkitects and became the upstate New York designer and distributor for LSI. He has guided Parkitects from a one-person startup to an established, multi-office firm with an emphasis on whole site and complete playground design that integrates structure and landscape. He is an active member of the New York upstate chapter of the ASLA, is a guest lecturer at Ithaca College and is an expert witness for one of New York’s largest insurance reciprocals.
Steve loves reading, but regrets that he now needs glasses to do it.
