Steamship Playground in Jamestown

The City of Jamestown wanted to create a new playground structure that mimicked the historic “Jamestown” steamship that was built and used in the late 1800s. The new inclusive steamship playground is located in McCrea Point Park and Boatlanding adjacent to the Chadakoin River. Some of the features include custom permalene panels to simulate the look of the original historic steamship, a ramped “boat dock” to access the structure, a custom steam stack and ship’s wheel.
